Barbara W. Hicks, 79, of Wesson, formerly of the Mechanicsburg Community in Yazoo County, passed away at her residence in Wesson Saturday, January 30, 2021. A homemaker, she was a member of Sylvarena Baptist Church in Copiah County.

Survivors include her daughters; Melissa Michelle (Bobby) Tanksley of Wesson, and Laneita (Elwin) Gary of Bentonia; son, Robert Hicks Jr. of Fairbanks, AK; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Hicks Sr.; a daughter; Karen A. Hicks; two grandsons, Charles A Scarborough and Kevin Munn; a son-in-law, Randy Potter; and a great-grandson, Carter Gary.
Private family graveside services will be conducted Monday, February 1, in Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City under the direction of Stricklin King Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Sebastian Luke, Zachary Luke, Hunter Hicks, Jordan Ward, Jadon Hughes, Tommy Potter, Jason Gary and Josh McClintock.
