COVID update, health department closures

COVID-19 related deaths in Lincoln County are just shy of triple digits, as 99 total deaths and 3,412 cases have been reported for the County.

The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 684 new cases and 23 new deaths Wednesday, elevating the state’s totals to 289,398 cases and 6,524 deaths.

The state presumes 264,456 people have recovered from the coronavirus as of Monday.

Department closures

Due to continued adverse weather conditions, all health departments, WIC and other offices will be closed Thursday in Southwest Mississippi, with a few exceptions. Those in Lawrence, Jefferson Davis and Covington counties plan to open at 10 a.m.
