No new COVID deaths in MS reported over weekend

Seventy new positive COVID-19 test results and no related deaths were reported to the Mississippi State Department of Health as of 3 p.m. Sunday.

Lincoln County has had 3,632 cases of the coronavirus and 104 deaths since February 2020. Of Lincoln’s neighboring counties, Jefferson has had the least number of cases at 629, and Franklin and Lawrence have had the least deaths, at 20 and 21, respectively. Pike County has had the most cases of the virus in these counties, at 3,304, and the most deaths, at 97.

Amite County has had 1,125 cases and 35 deaths; Copiah has had 2,801 cases and 59 deaths; Franklin has had 765 cases and 20 deaths; Jefferson has reported 629 cases and 27 deaths; Lawrence has reported 1,217 cases and 21 deaths; Pike has had 3,034 cases and 97 deaths; and Walthall County has reported 1,254 cases and 41 deaths as of Sunday.

The state has recorded 297,651 cases of the coronavirus — 184,333 confirmed — and 6,808 virus-related deaths — 4,737 confirmed. The state presumes 278,162 people have recovered from COVID-19 infections.
