COVID update: MS cases approach 303K, deaths near 7K

Lincoln County has had eight new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus reported since Friday and one new related deaths. The county’s totals are now 3,803 cases and 105 deaths, according to data published Monday by the Mississippi State Department of Health.

MSDH reported 95 new cases Monday, having recorded 302,932 cases to date, and a total of 6,956 deaths — 616 more cases and 11 more deaths since Friday.

MSDH presumes 287,341 people have recovered from positive cases of coronavirus as of March 15, since tracking began in March 2020.

All Mississippi residents are now eligible to be tested for COVID-19 free of charge by appointment at regularly-scheduled county health department locations.
