‘Honey’ Faye Carlisle Douglas

Funeral services for “Honey” Faye Carlisle Douglas will be on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 8081 Martinsville Road, Wesson, MS, with burial to follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery. Bro. Tim McCormick and Bro. Wade Biggs will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Service will follow visitation at noon.

Honey Douglas of Wesson, MS, passed from this life on April 10, 2021, at St. Dominic Hospital surrounded by her children at her side.

Honey was born Sept. 3, 1930, to Maggie May and Junior Varderman Carlisle. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was a helpmate to her husband Rev. Carey Paul Douglas at many various churches. She loved her Savior and her family. She played the organ and sung at Northview Baptist and Springhill Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing about her Lord everywhere she went. She was the most loving mother to her six children, and a loving grandmother.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, one sun, two daughters-in-law and one step-grandson.

Survivors are her two sons, David (Gwen) Douglas and Mark Douglas of Wesson; three daughters, Robin (Billy) Carr, Glenda (Billy) May of Wesson and Karen McCarley of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church Mission Program.
