Severe weather is possible once again for South Mississippi on the weekend.

The National Weather Service in Jackson has forecast a slight risk of severe storms with damaging winds of 60-70 mph, quarter-sized hail and possible tornadoes early Saturday through the afternoon.

A high of 76 degrees is expected for Brookhaven today, with decreasing high clouds making way for mostly sunny and seasonably warm conditions. Clouds will begin to increase tonight ahead of a cold front coming in from the northwest, with a low of 44.

On Wednesday, mostly sunny skies will prevail with cooler conditions and high temps in the lower to mid-60s.
