The Loyd Star golf team recently topped Wesson to take the Region 7-Class I boy’s golf championship at The Club at Ole Brook. Now both teams move on to the MHSAA Class I State Tournament. That event will be played at Wolf Hollow in Wesson on May 3-4.

Chris and Lydia King coach the Hornet golf team. Senior Douglas James shot a 72 for Loyd Star and was tournament medalist, just edging out his junior teammate Dawson Hester who shot a 73.

Team members are Hester, James, Riley Easterling, Brody Thibedeaux, Caden White and Chris King.
