No credible evidence exists to support rumors of a possible incident at Loyd Star High School, Lincoln County School District Superintendent David Martin said Thursday morning.
“Late yesterday evening we were made aware of rumors of a possible incident taking place at Loyd Star. No credible evidence of any such plan has been found at this time. However, even rumors are taken seriously,” Martin said via statement.
Law enforcement officials were contacted and procedures are in place to manage the situation and continue school as planned, he said.
“We understand situations such as this are concerning to parents, students, and the community. We want you to be aware that the administration has exercised extreme diligence and taken all proper actions required by law and in the best interests of our students and our faculty,” said Martin.
The district asks that anyone with any credible information pass that on to school administrators immediately.
“We appreciate your support and will continue to make every effort to provide a safe school environment,” Martin said.
