Hog Wild was a great success this year, according to event organizer Mark Porter.

Thirty-eight teams competed in the barbecue competition — the largest number ever for this event — and 28 competed in the steak cookoff.

Steak Cookoff Association Steak Award winners were: First place, Tommy Self, winning $1,000; second place, David Sterling, $500; and third place, Connie Stegall, $300.

The first-place winner in the chicken wings category was Chad Reed, winning $170 and top place among the 13 entries.

Nine children entered the Kid’s Burger contest. Top winners were Will Tyler, first place, $50; Addison Tyler, second place, $40; and Carden Mullenix, third place, $25.
