Rain, storms expected to continue through Thursday

The National Weather Service has forecast a chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon today for Lincoln County.

A 70% chance of showers and storms continues for the remainder of the day Monday. Rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch are possible.

Chance of rain drops to 30% into the evening, with precipitation mainly over by 8 p.m.

Skies will be partly cloudy with a high near 84 degrees. The low tonight will be around 72.

For Tuesday, residents can expect a slight chance of showers in the morning, then a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Rainfall amounts expected are less than a tenth of an inch, except during thunderstorms.

The day should become mostly sunny with a high near 88 and a heat index as high as 98. Low is 72 with mostly cloudy skies overnight.

A 60% chance of rain continues into Wednesday, dropping to 30% on Thursday. Friday should be mostly sunny, with 20% and 40% chances of rain returning Saturday and Sunday.
