The Wesson Garden Club filled the recent National Garden Week June 6-12 with displays and donations.

Club members used flowers, unique wooden pieces and greenery from their yards to create colorful floral arrangements for various businesses in Wesson. They used recycled water battles, carry-out boxes and bowls, to-go containers and glass jars as the base for all the arrangements, to demonstrate the importance of recycling and protecting the environment. Thirty-three floral arrangements were delivered.

The club’s Education Committee also set up a gardening book display in the Wesson Library.

The club donated two container gardens to the library in recognition of its remodeling and grand re-opening. Two books will also be donated to the library — “Time to Plant,” by James T. Farmer III, and “A Perfect Garden,” by Lucy London.
