Funeral service for Melody Nicole Rutland Travis will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Calvary Pentecostal Church with burial in the Rutland Family Cemetery in Lawrence County. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Friday, June 25 at the church.

Ms. Travis, 43, of Ruth, passed away June 22, 2021. She was born December 22, 1977, to her parents, John Patrick “Pat” Rutland and Rita Fay Lambert Rutland. She was employed as a cashier and was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church. Nicole loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her son, Austin Allen Travis; and her father.

She is survived by her mother; son, Dustin Allen Travis; daughters, Nikki NaRia Martin (Timmy), Alana Nicole Howard (Jeff); brothers, John Devin Rutland (Stacye), Kevin Patrick Rutland; sister, Tiffany NaShay Rushing (Jesse); four grandchildren, MaLyna Lynn, Paisley Ann, Hayden Buck, Zalie Brook; nieces and nephews, Danielle Callendar, Hunter Callendar, Harley Rutland, Patrick Rutland, Hollis Rutland, Piper Rutland and Hazlee Rutland.
