A tractor-trailer and a tractor on a trailer were involved in a wreck Wednesday morning on Hwy. 84 in Brookhaven at the intersection with Natchez Avenue.

Eastbound traffic is being rerouted through the area as cleanup takes place.

The female driver of a four-door Toyota Tundra with Louisiana plates was towing a flatbed trailer loaded with a Kubota tractor when she entered the highway from Natchez Avenue.

The driver of an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer loaded with cut lumber was headed westbound on Hwy. 84 and was unable to stop to avoid the vehicle.

The 18-wheeler struck the flatbed trailer loaded with the Kubota tractor, causing severe damage to the tractor, trailer and transport truck.

Brookhaven Police Department officers, Mississippi Highway Patrol Troopers and Brookhaven Fire Department firefighters responded.

Some injuries were sustained in the wreck, according to MHP Troop M reports.

Cleanup of the area is ongoing.
