The club recently attended “Meet Me at the Club,” a Design Specialty National Garden Club Flower Show.
The show, hosted on July 29 by the Mississippi Flower Show Judges’ Council, demonstrated how to learn cutting edge creative floral designs.
New partner
Wesson Garden Club also has a new community partner in Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
“As part of the Wesson Garden Club’s Community Outreach program, we are excited to announce Copiah-Lincoln Community College is now one of Wesson Garden Club’s newest partners! The college and the garden club will work together on several projects throughout the coming year,” said Nikki Hutson Smith, the club’s publicity chair.
On July 24, WGC members assisted CLCC landscaper Jacob Prisock in planting new plants in front of the Fortenberry Building adjacent to the football field. Members of WGC alongside CLCC staff members planted 154 shrubs and perennials, transforming the front of the Fortenberry Building into a beautiful landscape.
“Our partnership is off to a great start and the WGC is looking forward to a long and successful partnership with Copiah-Lincoln Community College! The garden club extends a sincere appreciation to those who took part in this collaborative event,” Smith said.
The Wesson Garden Club is a member of the Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc. and The National Garden Clubs, Inc.
