Hurricane Ida poses wind threat

Hurricane Ida will pose a wind threat for the Southwest Mississippi area Sunday night through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind gusts of 45-65 mph can cause widespread downed trees and power lines across portions of central Louisiana and south central Mississippi. Elsewhere, 30-45 mph winds will be possible which can bring down some trees and power lines.
