Hurricane Ida “could be a very dangerous situation for our area,” Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Chris Reid said Saturday afternoon.
Lincoln County has been placed under a Tropical Storm Warning.
The area can expect to see 45-65 mph sustained winds with higher gusts possible, 6-8″ of rain with higher amounts possible, marginal risk for short track tornadoes, and a marginal risk of severe storms, according to the National Weather Service.
“Please prepare and plan for inclement weather starting as early as Sunday afternoon into Monday,” Reid said.
Primary threats continue to be damaging winds flooding rain and a chance for tornadoes, the NWS cautioned Saturday.
The Brookhaven Building located at 1154 Beltline Drive will open Sunday, Aug. 29, as a temporary safe room at noon.
