Investigation ongoing into Walgreens robbery

The investigation into a robbery at Walgreens in Brookhaven is ongoing.

Just after 6:40 a.m. Aug. 18, a man entered the store at 719 Brookway Blvd. and demanded the cashier give him what they had, said Brookhaven Police Chief Kenneth Collins.

Security cameras nearby Walgreens captured images of the car believed to be driven by the suspect.

No weapon was displayed during the robbery, and the suspect got away with about $200 in petty cash.

“We are asking the public’s help to locate this fellow,” Collins said.

The suspect was described by police as a dark-skinned black male in his early 20s wearing a gray shirt, black pants and black shoes. He was reported to have fled the scene in a small gray car, headed east.

Security cameras captured images of the suspect and the car in which he allegedly fled the scene.
