November 16, 1946 – August 25, 2021

Pamala Scriber Childress, age 74, formerly of Joliet, Illinois, passed away on August 25, 2021, after an extended illness.

She attended Joliet Junior College and Augustana College in Illinois before marrying Robert. They traveled for military assignments, eventually settling in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Pamala was a grade school teacher and counselor. She participated in many clubs including the American Business Women’s Association, Red Hat Society, and the Velvet Hills Show Chorus. Singing was a great joy of her last years of life. Pamala was a proud military spouse, devoted mother, grandmother, and a fast friend to all who met her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Robert Earl Childress III.

Pamala is survived by her husband, Robert Earl Childress Jr.; son, James Byron Childress; daughter-in-love, Ashleigh Sue O’Brien; brother, Jay Scriber; and many close friends.

Visitation, 2:00 PM-3:00 PM, Funeral Service immediately following, 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 4, 2021, The Springs Funeral Services-North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.

Masks/facial coverings are required.

Pamala will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery, 1 Memorial Avenue, Arlington, Virginia 22211.
