The road to an MAIS 5A softball state champion begins this weekend at the Hansel King Sports Complex for teams from around the state. The complex and Brookhaven Academy are hosting the MAIS 5A South State Tournament beginning on Saturday.

Times and matchups are yet to be set as teams won’t finish the regular season until Wednesday. BA wraps up regular season play with a huge district game Wednesday at Silliman Institute that will decide who finishes first in the division.

The Lady Cougars are 20-3-1 and press time and will be one of the favorites when tournament play begins on Saturday.
