Brookhaven Trick-or-Treat set for Oct. 30

Creepy critters, ghouls, monsters, movie characters and adorable children will soon be asking for treats or threatening tricks at the front doors of residences all across Brookhaven.

Halloween falls on Sunday this year, so city leaders have asked those observing trick-or-treat door-to-door traditions to do so on Saturday, Oct. 30, instead.

“The City of Brookhaven suggests that door-to-door Halloween trick-or-treating be observed within Brookhaven city limits from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, for families choosing to participate,” Mayor Joe Cox said.

While police officers will be patrolling to ensure the safety of revelers as much as possible, residents are reminded to take extra health and safety measures.

“No streets will be closed,” Cox said. “Motorists are asked to use extreme caution, watch for children and not text while driving.”
