The Lincoln County Veterans Memorial on South First Street in Brookhaven honors the memory of area veterans who gave their lives in service to the nation in various conflicts. This Saturday, living veterans of Desert Storm and all other Southwest Asia conflicts will be honored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The Capt. Daniel D. “Danny” Entrican VFW Post 2618 will host its seventh annual Open House from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday to honor these military veterans.  A gift bag of “goodies” from local sponsors will be given to each honored guest — those who served in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Desert Sabre, Infinite Justice, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn and all other military operations in the Middle East. Veterans are asked to bring a DD-214 form or other documentation of service in Southwest Asia.

Free food, drinks and door prizes will be available, as well as activities for children. At 2 p.m. a raffle drawing will be conducted for a .223 rifle, $400 in fuel from R.B. Wall or a $200 VISA/MC gift card.
