The MS/LA Peace Officers Association recently presented the 2021 Exemplary Service Award to Brookhaven Police Department administrative assistant Shauntinae Smith. Smith has worked for BPD since January 2015, beginning as a part-time dispatcher.

Summit Police Chief Kenneth Cotton, who serves as MS/LA Peace Officers Association secretary, presented the award to Smith,  who was accompanied by BPD Lt. Tecompsha Warren and BPD Chief Kenneth Collins.
