Mr. Shelby Gene James, of Wesson, 80, passed away October 17, 2021.

He was born on November 11, 1940, to the late Leroy James and Coralie Elizabeth James.

He served his country in the United States Army and Navy.

Mr. Shelby enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports racing, working and attending rodeos. He also received a safety award from Noble Drilling and “Have a Heart” Bass Tournaments.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Dianne James; and son, Neal Armstrong.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Keith Armstrong and wife, Belinda; daughter, Charolett Dawn James; brothers, Harold James, Jerry James, Johnny James, Dennis James, Daryl James; and sisters, Sandra Redmond and Cheryl James.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Anthony Wayne Armstrong, Gregory Scott Turnage, Joshua Lee Oliver, Cassondra Dianne James; and great-grandsons, Rivers Armstrong and Brandin Ace Rutland; four sisters-in-law, Jane James, Pat James, Debbie James, and Jane James; grandson-in-law, Nick Rutland; and family members (not blood related) Susan and Jerry Judd, Amber and Joe Dillion, and Dauwanna Mitchell.
