The most popular candy in Mississippi for Halloween 2020 was candy corn. Three percent of Americans say they have never tried the candy and 41% say they could take it or leave it. But 35% say they love it, and 21% say they absolutely hate it. And Mississippians purchase more of it than residents of any other state — 96% more likely than the national average.

The states that had the most candy purchases were Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Washington. The states with the least candy purchases were Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, New York and North Carolina.


According to a nationwide survey, the top seven costume ideas for Halloween this year are:
