Funeral service for Mrs. Sylvia Ann Buie Walker will be Noon, Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Ruth Baptist Church, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Mrs. Walker was born in the rural community of Shady Grove, in Lincoln County, Mississippi, January 3, 1939. She passed away October 22, 2021, just seven weeks after the love of her life, Malcolm, entered eternity. She was 82 years of age.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 plus years, Malcolm Walker; her parents, William Prentis Buie and Olive Christine McDavid Buie; son, Gary Walker; brothers, Sammy Buie and Mike Buie; and sister, Francis Powell. After losing her mother at an early age, she was raised by her grandparents, the late Ithamar and Jessie McDavid.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her daughter, Mitzie Rutland and husband, Larry; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Buie and Evelyn Buie; brother-in-law, Thad Powell; six grandchildren, Scott Thornhill (Tami), William Thornhill (Sharon), Malcolm “Chopper” Walker (Erin), Jamie Walker (Amanda), Lindsey Terrell, and Lauren Beaty (Dewayne). She also leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren, Cody, Ava, Parker, Matthew (Nicole), Austin (Sheadon), Emma, Dovie, Kameron, Foster, Lexie, Chloe, Zoey, Coleman, and Jaxson; as well as other loving family members and friends.
