Mrs. Winnie “Aileen” Traxler, 82, passed from this life Friday, October 22, 2021 at St Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. The family will receive friends Monday, October 25, 2021, from 4:00PM-8:00PM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 10 AM until the 11 AM Funeral Service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Red Star Ward in Wesson, MS. Interment will follow in Red Star Cemetery.
Aileen was born on February 27, 1939 in Lincoln, MS to the late James and Hollyce Smith. She was a long-time faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved her family and friends more than anything. She loved cooking for others, especially banana pudding anytime she could. “To know Aileen was to love her” was felt by her family, friends, and the community.
Along with her parents, Aileen is proceeded in death by her son, Kendall D. Traxler; sister, Jerelene Walker; and brother, Curtis Smith.
Aileen is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Victor “Vic” Traxler; son, Kevin (Lynn) Traxler; son, Dwight Traxler; granddaughter, Cortney (Matt) Townsend; granddaughter, Victoria Traxler; grandson, Thomas Traxler; grandson, David Stribling; granddaughter, Jennifer (Caleb) Weaver; sister, Linda Faye Smith; sister, Peggy (Carroll) Porter; sister, Charlotte Terrell; great-grandchildren, Josie Aileen and Marshall Townsend; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Samuel, Joshua, Ben, and Jacob Weaver; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers, Andrew Bodin, Dwight Traxler, Jason Terrell, Justice Boone, Matt Townsend, and Thomas Traxler.
