Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Davis Pace Jr. of Brookhaven and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Lamar Hood of Flowood, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jesse Marie Pace to Daniel Lucas Stoakes, the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Lee Stoakes of Webster City, Iowa.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Bobbie Pace, the late Jeff Davis Pace Sr. of Canton and the late Mrs. Cecilia Pace Clanton of Jackson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Troy Lee King of Pelahatchie. The prospective groom is the grandson of Dr. Jack Douglas Stoakes and the late Mrs. Barbara Stoakes of Ames, Iowa and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Howard McCurry of Goldfield, Iowa.

Miss Pace is a graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. She attended Mississippi State University where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority and served on the Panhellenic Council. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a master’s degree in nutrition, and is a 2021 graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. She hopes to work in pediatric or inpatient medicine in Houston.

Mr. Stoakes is a graduate of Webster City High School. He attended Northwood University where he was a member of the Northwood Golf team. He graduated Valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance. He graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2015 with a Master of Business Analytics. He is currently the Senior Manager of Client Strategies at Flodder Financial Group in Katy, Texas.

The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at First Baptist Church Chapel in Jackson, MS. They will make their home in Houston, Texas.
