Rain to hit area as snow expected in Southeast, East Coast

Storms bringing up to one-half inch of rain are expected for the area this weekend as a winter storm system is expected to impact the Mid-South, Southeast, and East Coast this weekend.

A winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow and gusty winds to the Northern Plains into the Upper and Mid-Mississippi Valley that may cause some hazardous travel beginning Thursday night through Friday night.
