Ten Brookhaven High School students have submitted poems to Appelley Publishing’s 2022 writing contest.

Nine of the students wrote sonnets in instructor Leslie Davis’ English I class, and an additional student — Amelia Whitaker — submitted a poem she wrote in her free time.

Approximately 20 percent of poems submitted to the 2022 National Student Poetry Contest will be published, and will be featured in the “2022 Rising Stars Collection.” Winning entries will be posted at www.appelley.org/winners on April 8.
