Mostly clear skies and cool temps this weekend

Friday and the weekend are expected to be mostly clear and cool for the area, even as a powerful winter storm is expected to significantly impact the mid-Eastern and New England sections of the country.

For Lincoln County, mostly cloudy skies Friday morning are expected to gradually clear with winds 5-15 mph, and gusts up to 25 mph. The high should be near 50. Friday night skies will be clear with 5-10 mph winds, and a low around 28.

Expect sunny skies Saturday and a high of 50, with 5 mph winds becoming calm in the afternoon. Saturday night should be clear, as well, with a low around 32 and winds up to 5 mph after midnight.

Another sunny day is forecast for Sunday, with warmer temps near 62, dropping to a low of 37. Winds of 5-10 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph will calm to around 5 mph overnight.

A 50 percent chance of showers is expected Monday night and Tuesday, dropping to 40 percent Tuesday night, then back to a 60 percent chance on Wednesday.
