Bogue Chitto hoops knocks West Lincoln boys out of Regional Tourney

The Bogue Chitto boys basketball team was victorious Monday in Liberty as they bounced the West Lincoln Bears 55-49 in an elimination game at the Region 7-2A Tournament.

The Bears and first year head coach Jay Case end the season with a 2-21 record. Junior guard Javarius Lewis scored a team high 13 points in the win. West Lincoln has two seniors on its roster in Landon Burgess and Enrico Price. Price scored nine points in the loss.

Junior Tristan Rollins scored 11 points for WL while sophomore Sangyin Stewart added nine points and freshman Tyquarius Terrell rounded out the scoring with seven points.

Bogue Chitto and coach Marc Howard moved to 12-11 on the season with the victory. Junior Cameron Williams scored a game high 18 points to lead the Bobcats. Freshman point guard Devonta Thompson was the other BC player in double figures as he scored 14 points.

Freshman Noah Magee added eight points for the Bobcats while junior Shomari Jenkins scored eight points as well. Freshman Tarvas Collins added four points and freshman Shakell Jenkins rounded out the scoring with three points.
