Good morning! It’s Friday and tomorrow will be a busy day for many in the Brookhaven area.

Weekly community litter cleanup will begin with volunteers gathering at the Dr. A. L. Lott Sportsplex at 7:30 a.m.

The 69th annual Brookhaven Camellia Society Show starts at 8 a.m. at The Homestead Whittington Farm on Hwy. 51 with entry submissions, accepted until 10:30 a.m. A plant sale from Mizell’s Camellia farm begins at 8:30 a.m. and the show will be open for the public to view entries and winners from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

The Dr. A. L. Lott Youth Sports League (ages 3-17) registration will also be from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Sportsplex. The $35 fee will cover uniforms and equipment. Registration will continue every Saturday at the same time and on Wednesdays 4:30-7 p.m. at The Bi-Centennial Building, 200 Main St., through March 16.

Rounding out Saturday evening will be The Krewe of Ceres’ 55th annual Charity Ball, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Civic Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 and are available by calling 662-312-1958.

The Lincoln County Board of Supervisors will meet in the county boardroom in the Lincoln County/Brookhaven Government Complex at 9 a.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 22

The Lincoln County School District Board will meet at Loyd Star Attendance Center at 5:30 p.m.

The Brookhaven School District Board will meet in the superintendent’s office at 6 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 24

The Annual Mike Warren Tree Sale sponsored by Lincoln County Soil and Water Conservation District begins at 7 a.m. at the Lincoln Civic Center, 1096 Belt Line Drive NE, Brookhaven. The first-come, first-served sale will have hardwood, ornamental, flowering, fruit and wildlife trees and shrubs available for $4 to $8 each. For  more information call 601-833-9321 ext. 3.
