A Brookhaven native has been honored with a fellowship in the American Osteopathic College of Radiology.

Dr. Michael A. Henderson, a diagnostic radiologist at Advanced Radiology Services P.C. in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was selected by the Honors and Awards Committee of the American Osteopathic College of Radiology to receive the fellowship.

Henderson is a 1976 honors graduate of Brookhaven High School and a 1978 honors graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He has also been inducted into the Co-Lin Hall of Fame. He graduated from Millsaps College in 1980 and Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1986. He has practiced primarily in Michigan since the completion of his fellowship in medical imaging in 1991.

Dr. Henderson has served on the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology since 2017 as an oral board examiner, and serves on some of the AOCR committees. He is also a clinical associate professor at Michigan State University’s Department of Radiology.

Henderson and his wife Susan live in Williamston, Michigan, where — aside from gourmet cooking and entertaining — he regularly runs 100-mile ultra-marathons.

Henderson will receive his fellowship award during the 2022 AOCR convention in Florida on April 6.
