The Brookhaven Academy softball team was hosted by local representatives Wednesday at the Mississippi Capitol.​ House Representative Becky Currie, House Representative Vince Mangold and Senator Jason Barrett were all on hand as the team received a proclamation from the senate. The team won the MAIS 5A state title in October with a 9-5 win over Silliman Institute. The team coached by head coach Becky Flowers and assistant coach Lisa Covington finished with a 32-6-1 record.
