Some severe storms are possible in portions of Lincoln, Lawrence and Copiah counties today.

A marginal risk has been announced by the National Weather Service for this afternoon into early this evening as a cold front moves into the region. Isolated severe storms are possible, with damaging wind gusts and hail up to quarter size.

The risk of severe weather is expected mainly from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The area of expected impact covers a portion of northeastern Lincoln County, most of Lawrence County and the eastern half of Copiah County, mainly east of I-55.
