A one-mile stretch of Hwy. 51 in Lincoln County will be closed for bridge work for approximately two weeks.

Beginning today, Monday, May 16, the Mississippi Department of Transportation will be working in the section from Argyle Trail south to Stoney Brook Trail in Bogue Chitto.

Traffic in both directions will be re-routed. Detour signs are in place, and motorists are reminded to be on high alert for roadside workers.

The bridge work is expected to be completed by Monday, May 30.
