Two Brookhaven students have received awards at Mississippi College.

Michaela Cooper of Brookhaven has received the Susan H. Lassiter English Award. The award is funded by the English full-time faculty to recognize senior transfer students majoring in English who embody the values and ideals of MC’s English Department.

Allie Townsend of Brookhaven was named the Glenda Locke White Elementary Education Honor Student of the Year. Presented by MC’s Department of Teacher Education and Leadership, the honor is a monetary award given in memory of Glenda Locke White, a first-grade teacher and 1966 MC graduate. The award is presented to the elementary education student who rated the highest standard of achievements in student learning, scholarship, personal qualities, educational ideals and contributions.
