Flash flooding from excessive rainfall is possible today through Thursday morning.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely in Lincoln County and surrounding areas beginning before noon and continuing through the afternoon. Chance of rain is 90 percent, increasing to 100 percent.

New rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches could lead to flash flooding. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may also occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Residents are encouraged to monitor forecasts throughout the day and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
