BHS graduates find inspiration from experiences

Friday afternoon’s beautiful blue skies had the sun harshly setting a glow around the many Brookhaven High School seniors as they marched across the field toward their future as 2022 graduates.

Families and friends parked here and there as they strove to find a way through the large crowds peopling all parts of the high school’s property.

Finally, after the graduates had been waiting in line for some time, their hands shading their eyes from the penetrating rays from above, the music began, and like a long, slithering snake, the young men and young women left one side of the field as seniors and end up high school graduates on the other side.

Speakers told the graduates to remember the times they had at school and the friends they made, but remember to continue to grow and make new memories. A community prayer asked for peace and comfort for families who had recently experience such a tragic event during the past year.

Graduates were also encouraged to keep in mind that life will have both good and bad memories, but it’s all a part of growing up and living life to the fullest. Another theme was to be true to yourself and stand for what you believe in to make sure the nation endures and its people continue to be enlightened in mind and just in deed.
