Caston Thompson picked MAIS All-Star game MVP

Brookhaven Academy senior baseball star Caston Thompson put the finishing touches on his high school career with an MVP worthy performance this week in the MAIS 4A-5A-6A All-Star Game on Monday.

Thompson smashed a two-run homerun in the game that was played at Frierson Field on the campus of Mississippi College in Clinton.

He was one of two BA seniors also named to the MAIS 5A All-State Team this week along with his teammate, catcher Trenton Tarver.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Thompson hit .545 on the season as a first baseman and pitcher. The big left hander hit 13 homeruns on the season for coach Caleb Upton.

Thompson has signed a letter-of-intent to play at Pearl River CC next season while Tarver signed with Co-Lin.
