Severe storms possible Thursday afternoon, evening

A marginal risk of severe storms for almost all of Mississippi has been announced by The National Weather Service in Jackson.

Isolated severe storms capable of damaging wind gusts and small hail are possible this afternoon through early evening for all but the most southeastern and northwestern portions of the state. A 75 percent chance of precipitation is forecast for the day, dropping to 55 percent tonight.

Temperatures are expected to reach 88 in Brookhaven, with a low of 68.
