Alton Prather, 79 of the Atoah Community, no longer resides at 979 IU Gap Road in Robbinsville, NC. He had a change of address June 12, 2022. He is now residing in a Mansion on the Streets of Gold by the Banks of the River Jordan.

Born on April 2, 1943, in Monticello, MS to the late Walter A. and Analo White Prather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children Pat Prather; his brothers, Tommy Prather, Carroll Prather, W.D. Prather, and sisters, Georgia Walker, Vera Cutler, and Betty Lynn Wallace.

Alton was a true Southern Gentleman and who enjoyed his family and friend’s company. He worked hard to ensure that his family was cared for. He had a love for Horses and for the rustic outdoor way of life. A humble man who never had a bad thing to say. He was often seen reflectively thinking about life and his relationship with God. His love of food and cooking was greatly appreciated by anyone who knew him, from Creole Louisiana cooking to Southwest Tex-Mex. His love of spices and an infusion of flavor was enjoyed by all who tasted his cuisine, especially his fresh salsa.
