After conducting public meetings about the upcoming school year’s budget, the Lincoln County School District’s Board of Trustees moved on to discussions that showed progress of the many construction projects within the district, including any outstanding contracts.

“The contracts are signed and approved and they’re all done,” said the district’s superintendent, David Martin. He discussed agricultural construction projects occurring at the district’s schools and requested approval of the contract between LCSD and Waycaster & Associates’ architect. The board gave approval.

The ag buildings are part of the district’s focus on work-based learning, which was physically offered at Enterprise and Loyd Star. New construction of ag centers mean Bogue Chitto and West Lincoln students will be afforded the chance to attend class at their own school locations. The centers teach things like welding and small-engine repair.
