BROOKHAVEN — Friday was the opening round of the Clubs at Ole Brook Club Championship. Golf Pro Jeff Henning said about 50 golfers will play in the tournament with the top players being selected to represent Ole Brook in the Norwood Cup.
Friday’s round was a bit of a free-for-all as players got together in groups throughout the day depending on their work schedules. Saturday and Sunday’s rounds should start at 9a.m. with a tee time schedule.
The tournament is stroke play much like the Open Championship played this weekend at St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Henning said he didn’t plan for the tournament to be held during the major tournament but it “worked out that way.”
