Severe storms, high heat for Lincoln County Thursday

As storms move south-southwest through the area Thursday morning, Lincoln County residents should prepare for possible severe storms later today.
The National Weather Service has issued a Marginal Risk for the area, with possible isolated severe storms from 4 p.m. through midnight. These storms may be accompanied by damaging wind gusts and near continuous lightning. Heavy downpours are to be expected.
Even with an 85 percent chance of rain and 77 percent probability of thunderstorms, the heat index remains high. A heat advisory of index values from 105 to 110 degrees is expected until 9 p.m.
