The state of Mississippi to-date has granted three licenses to medical cannabis dispensaries in Lincoln County.

The Cannabis Company Inc. received its license July 25 as part of the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program. Dennis Sanders Jr. was granted a license Aug. 1 and Mississippi Dispensary Investments 2 LLC got its license Aug. 2. Only The Cannabis Company Inc., however, has acquired its Brookhaven license.

In the counties bordering Lincoln County, two dispensaries have received licenses so far. The first is LeafMed 3 LLC, in McComb, Pike County, and the other is BioSciences of Mississippi LLC, in Tylertown, Walthall County.

As of Wednesday, seven companies had registered as cultivation facilities. These are located in Byram, Canton, Jackson, Long Beach, Meridian and Raymond. Two micro-cultivation facilities were also registered in Raymond and Jackson.

Ninety-three companies had received licenses as dispensaries across the state. Three companies registered for processing facilities, in Meridian, Jackson and Raymond. A Raymond company also received licenses as a transport and disposal entity.

Some companies hold multiple licenses, for multiple locations. For example, Mockingbird Cannabis LLC holds licenses for cultivation, processing, transportation and disposal, all in Raymond. Rootdown LLC and MS Mudd LLC have multiple dispensary locations.
