MHP recruiting for new cadets with local orientation program

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is recruiting. MHP Cadet Class 67 will begin in January 2023.

A district orientation will be Saturday, Sept. 24, to let interested parties see what MHP is all about, and what is required to be a trooper. Each of the nine districts will have an orientation class starting at 9 a.m. and expected to last until 3 p.m.

“We’ll have a program, tell them all about the Highway Patrol, and talk about salary and benefits,” said Cpl. Craig James of Troop M, headquartered in Brookhaven. “We’ll also have a PT session to show them what they’ll be expected to be able to do in the academy.”
