Absentee voting for the November General Election has begun.

All registered voters who are unable to vote in-person on Election Day, Nov. 8, can cast an absentee ballot in the office of Lincoln County Circuit Clerk Dustin Bairfield, on the second floor of the Lincoln County/Brookhaven Government Complex. Absentee voting is open to all voters who will be out of town, working during the election, over the age of 65, working at the polls, away at college, or physically unable to go to a polling place.

The office is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office will also be open on two Saturdays prior to the election — Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 — from 8 a.m. until noon.

Mail-out absentee voting is open to voters who are temporarily outside of the county (for work or school), overseas, in the military, over the age of 65, and temporarily or permanently physically disabled.

Email absentee voting is only available to those who are in the military or overseas.

Anyone who has not yet registered to vote has until Oct. 10 to do so. Registration can be completed at the Circuit Clerk’s office in-person or online.
