This is the first time food vendor Allen Young will be a part of the festival. A McComb native, Young has wanted to open a taco truck since he was in high school, but life happened and it kept getting put off. He finally got started in July, and the Brookhaven festival will be his second event.

“I’m looking forward to doing a trial-and-error thing, have a good time, serve good food and enjoy the vibe,” Young said. “My wife and I prayed a lot on this. We put God first in this. Come try my tacos.”

Stephanie Porter is a “regular” at Ole Brook, having been a vendor at the festival since 2007.

“I started making hair bows ad headbands in my dining room when my youngest daughter, who is now 16, was 2 years old,” Porter. “Today, I still do hair bows, headbands and anything that is shiny and sparkly. For the Ole Brook Festival, I really concentrate on school spirit items — those always sell really well.”

Porter said she enjoys the “little things” about being a regular vendor.

“I love being able to make something and to have a little girl come to my booth and her eyes light up with excitement when she sees and tries on something as simple as a hair bow or headband,” she said. “It’s the little things like that that make me smile about being a vendor at the Ole Brook Festival.”
