Caution before candy: Streets closed for Brookhaven trick-or-treating

Safety before snacks tonight and caution before candy — some streets will be closed for Halloween celebration in Brookhaven.

The South Jackson Street in Brookhaven will be closed today for Trick-or-Treating 5:30-7:30 p.m.

South Jackson will be closed by Brookhaven Police at Natchez Avenue and at Chickasaw Street. West Minnesota Street will be closed from McCormick Court to South Church Street, and West Chippewa Street will be closed from South Railroad Avenue to South Church Street.

Parking will be available at Brookhaven Elementary School, the lot at Chickasaw and Jackson streets, downtown parking lots, and other legal parking areas.

“Residents of the area will be given access to drive cautiously to their homes,” BPD Sgt. Jonathan Hart said.
